EMBO / FEBS Lecture course: The new microbiology

Spetses Summer courses are well known for covering various specialized topics within the general fields of molecular and cell biology and also microbiology. This latter field has witnessed a real renaissance in the last 20 years, and in this particular FEBS/EMBO Lecture Course, we intend to cover different aspects of ‘The New Microbiology’, including new regulatory mechanisms, small signaling molecules/small RNAs, bacterial model systems in infection biology, symbiosis, and microbial communities/microbiotas or bacterial diversity – highlighting major themes in which approaches from different disciplines are merging into an exciting new field.
